Growing up between Old Sharlayan and its colony, Vikanda has always been surrounded by scholars who observed peace and non-interference as their creed. Her father was different. Following the exodus, he refused to leave and instead assisted with the Ala Mhigan resistance, while her mother moved the family to Vylbrand where they could start their lives anew as Eorzeans.
For the next several years, they moved between different towns before finally settling down in Moraby Drydocks where her mother worked as a chef. Her father eventually returned and opened a local clinic, after being away from family put too much strain on him.
At first, Vikanda had been undergoing culinary training to become a chef, like her mother. While helping her father with his clinic, however, Vikanda met all sorts of people from around the world and discovered her passion for learning about other cultures and languages. She realized she wanted to follow her father’s footsteps as a scholar.
She relocated back to the remnants of her old home, now called Idyllshire, to dedicate her next life chapter to research, specializing in Dragonspeak and Gobbiespeak while dabbling in the little healing magic her father had taught her.
